My quilting career continues to blossom. I spent 2014 traveling the country working shows, taking classes, teaching classes, attending conferences and just having fun with my "quilty friends". One of my favorite pieces "Wandering 'Round my World" received much recognition; check out the gallery page to see the awards. I was interviewed by Bonnie Browning, Executive Show Director of the American Quilt Society (AQS) at the Phoenix show. You can see the interview and get insights on how this piece was created here.
I also wrote numerous articles for "MACHINE QUILTING UNLIMITED" magazine. This is a wonderful magazine devoted to the art of quilting. Every issue is chock full of "eye candy" and inspiring ideas and I am proud to be a small part of that.
Dyeing my own fabric has become increasingly more important for me in my artwork. In the Spring of 2014, I spent two weeks taking classes on dyeing from Carol Soderlund at the Nancy Crow Workshop Barn in Baltimore, Ohio. My head is filled with wonderful, soft neutral colors after the last workshop and I plan to spend time exploring and creating new artwork featuring this color palette. I named my first piece "PEACEFUL EVENING" and you can see it in the Gallery section.
I hope you enjoy looking at the quilted artwork I have created. It is a pleasure and an honor to share it with the world. I look forward to meeting many of you at a show down the road!
