I began my "quilting journey" about 11 years ago. And what an exciting journey it has been! I continue to create new work and evolve. Freehand work on the sewing machine has always been a favorite of mine. I continue to advance those freehand skills with each project I make. And I have always felt that choosing the correct machine is a big part of the process. For the past number of years I had quilted on and became a sales representative for a national longarm company. Recently I purchased the Bernina Q20, a sit down long arm. Since I used and sold Bernina's for 30 years of my adult life, I feel like I have "come home" again! I have fallen in love with this new machine, it feels so "familiar" and has many of the same features I am used to on my Bernina home sewing machines.
Over the past few years, I have also taught many free motion quilting classes. Those are always enjoyable days! I love interacting with students and later seeing what they have accomplished.
But, for the next few years, I have decided to stay home and work in my own studio. I have fabrics to dye and paint, techniques to develop and work on and just need to get some of the ideas out of my head and onto my design wall! I have all the equipment and supplies I could want….. now to stay home and be the full time STUDIO ARTIST that I always dreamed of being.
I maintain this website to share my latest work with you. I also send out a newsletter, maybe a few times a year, to announce shows that I will be in and keep my friends updated on what I am doing. If you are interested in receiving this newsletter, or just have a question or comment, please contact me at; firstname.lastname@example.org.
And I will still be attending various national shows, just not working at them. So maybe our paths will cross somewhere down the road……….. Until then……
