Welcome to Schillig Scribbles!
Winter 2013
Like it or not, the New Year is upon us! I kept very busy in 2012 teaching freehand quilting classes at various stores and guilds. I spent many hours quilting the newest artwork created by Nancy Crow and it is on display at various art venues around the world. I also displayed my own quilted artwork at shows around the country. It was a productive and exciting year.
As you may know, I do all my quilting on my GEORGE, a sit-down longarm machine manufactured in Iowa by American Professional Quilting Systems. In 2013, I will be spending quite a bit of time working at major quilt shows in the APQS booth. It is a joy to sell this product, work with a wonderful organization and I get to see all the big award winning quilts also! What could be better? If you are attending one of the shows, please stop by and say HI! See my schedule page for show dates.
I am also very involved with Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA). As the SAQA Ohio Co-Rep, I help to organize statewide meetings of dedicated artists/quilt enthusiasts. We are very excited about our next exhibit: The View From Here; Quilts of the Ohio River Valley, which will debut at the IQF show in Cincinnati this April. I was so pleased to get two pieces juried into this exhibit.
If I can help or answer questions about George or SAQA, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Happy Quilting!!
Beth Schillig
